Characteristic of an international school, most students at Chapel are second or third language learners. Our school philosophy is that all Chapel teachers must use a variety of research-based teaching strategies to directly support the second language learner. In order to best support students in acquiring a second language, we have the following:

  • Three full time teachers supporting students who are English language learners. These teachers provide programming that supports students inside the regular classroom. Depending on individual student needs, pull out programming is also available.
  • At each grade level, Portuguese as a second language is offered to support students who are entering Chapel without previous knowledge of Portuguese.
