Model United Nations is a simulation of the United Nations General Assembly and other commitees of the United Nations. Chapel School is one of over 200,000 high schools and colleges throughout the world that partake in MUN. The purpose of Model United Nations is to involve students in the study and discussion of global issues and politics in the hope that they will strive to make the world a better place to live. Students who participate will research issues, draft resolutions and publicly debate while playing the role of an international diplomat.
MUN participants also have a wonderful opportunity to interact with students from schools all over South America. Each year, Chapel participates in the local São Paulo MUN (SPMUN, which we last hosted in 2009) and the Brazil MUN (BRAMUN), which typically involves travelling to another city in Brazil.
